Will you accept this rose?

The Bachelor 2011 is getting BORING.
I picked who went home tonight.
The positive, B watches it with me, so we are entertained.
Cuz, winter is so non-entertaining.

They filmed in the summer which makes me wanna go get some
cute sandals and bright colored clothes and
just chill.  We are getting more snow here, and
frankly, I've had it!

Okay, I'm gonna make this short and sweet, Brad-style.
He kind of is starting to bug me.
He's says the same thing to every.single.girl.
He's so non-original and it's just not real life
for a guy to dial up his therapist.

Tonight's episode was fun, cuz I have lived in Las Vegas.
Every place is new that they showed, that
place changes constantly, so I wasn't surprised.
Brandon and I have watched the races at the racetrack though,
so that was cool to watch.

Ashley S., sad to see you go, I thought you were cuter,
more normal, and had better hair than the other Ashley...but I guess Brad didn't.
I actually felt bad for her...I think she is adorable and I know EXACTLY how
she felt about love, love sucks hon, it does.

But....here's a tip.

Why were you rocking silly bands?
My three year old daughter wears those.
Just sayin.

Lisa...you are adorable, and totally got the shaft because
you didn't get time with the Bachelor.  This is when I would not
be a good contestant and might go postal.
If I were on the show and I didn't get a chance to spend time
with the guy....I would probably freak cuz he wasn't getting
to know the real "ME".

Awww...Marissa.
I've got nothing.
I don't know one thing about you.
Handing him some notes was kind of a last ditch effort.
It flopped.

Final thoughts:
Emily will look adorable in her wedding dress to Brad.
However, if I were her I would be worried that Brad might cheat on her
with Michelle.  She definitely knows how to seduce.

What do YOU think?
Am I totally off base?
Is winter getting soooooooo old?

I could be your "Crack" dealer!

{Image via Tumblr}

My internet has been down.
So, that means no blogging about the Bachelor!
Ugh...technology...
It's fixed now, but everyone and their mother has seen the episode and
weighed in, so I will report next week.
But, Emily and Michelle are still in aren't they?
My picks...mmm hmmm.

We are off to a winter escape!
We leave tomorrow....Branmuffin, the kiddos, and Moi.
It should be fun and relaxing and Branmuffin will get
his chance to ice fish for the first time.
Good times, huh?
Eck.

I promised the recipe for my Crack Salad from this post.

So here goes:

Dressing:

You are a BIG Dog

I've got a story about two dogs.
One, is in my house.
The other, I am disappointed to share his story but
feel compelled to do so....

I decorated a friend's condo this summer.

You can read about it here.
But, when visiting recently she told me she wasn't in love
with the dog.
So, I took him home and promised a good life and a
good blog post.

You likey?  That's my new dog.  And I really don't need
another live one...so, I was happy to scoop him up in
my loving arms and take him to my
crazy home.

I don't know what I am going to name him yet, but it
will start with Sir...cuz he is just that noble, don't you
think?  Maybe Sir Noble, or Sir Happy?
Whatevs, I love him...and he fits in so well.

Okay, wanna hear about another dog?
This one shocks me and breaks my heart at the same time.

I am a huge fan of Morgan Freeman.
I just love him.
One of my favorite movies of all time is "Shawshank Redemption" and
I love most things he is in.  Love his voice, and I think he
would be so great to sit down with for coffee....
I would love to ask him about life in Hollywood
and just being him.

However....
I just heard the worst story about him!
And, it makes me mad and ticks me off!

He's a dirty dog!
Did you know this?

He has been having a long time affair against his wife
of 25 years with his step-granddaughter.
Yes...here's a pic...
It's been going on for over 10 years, and
it started when she was 17.

Seriously?
Thanks for ruining my vision of you, Morgan...
I know you aren't blood-related, but
you are getting it on, with your step-granddaughter behind
your wife of 25 years behind her back????

Ugh...depressing, cuz I loved you so.
And, I would've thought more of you.

Now, you have the story of two dogs.
The one I loved from the movies, and the one in my
home.

Oh, next post, I am happy to give each of you the
recipe to my Crack Salad.
We had it again tonight and it NEVER disapoints.

Oh Momma

{Image via Flickr}

Everybody's gotta Momma.
My Momma came to my house last week
to watch my kiddos while I had an appointment.

Not only did she watch my kids, but she
brought them presents and she brought ME presents.

She brought me this piece,

I don't know what you call it, if you do..
please advise...but she knows I am trying
to decorate with lots of white and bright colors.
Plus she brought me my favorite brand of candle with a clean scent
to cozy it up around here.

Lastly, she made me dinner with one of my favorite salads.

Brandon was gone to yet another sporting event,
this time it was a hockey game.

It was such a friday night bliss event, I had to take a picture.
She made me her infamous "Crack" salad that is even featured in a
local cookbook.  We call it "Crack" salad, because its  like
crack...you just can't stop eating it.
Why is it when someone else cooks you something
it tastes better?

Have you ever noticed that?

Do you guys have a salad you crave?

The Bachelor ...I smell a catfight coming.

Wowsa...it's getting heavy on The Bachelor.
Is it me, or is it super obvious who is going to stay on or not?
I'm glad the vampire girl pulled herself out,
it was ballsy and I actually think she is sweet for doing it.

What is up with Kimberly?

I thought she was cute and then when she got
booted she got all attitudey....

What I've learned on this season of The Bachelor:
1. It's weird to watch a guy want to talk about feelings and
vulnerability and connecting with women....
especially without a woman asking them to!

2. The gal that got booted should never have worn her hair curly
to the rose ceremony, I have curly hair myself...so I mentally noted that
it can come off deshevelled.  Did you see her mascara running?
Seriously, this show can be so embarrassing for us girls.
and lastly....

3. Emily is soooo gonna win!  She's gorgeous, sweet, southern, and
a good Momma.....what a combination.  Let's hope she let's loose a little.

I also predict that there is gonna be a catfight with Michelle.
She is PSYCHO, too hardcore...he is so keeping her for ratings.
Gosh, no wonder she is single.

Alright folks...what do you think????

Call me a freak, I LOVE brussel sprouts

Back in the day when I was pregnant with my
daughter, I had a couple of pregnancy cravings.
One was tabbouleh salad, I ate it almost 3 times a week
and I craved it hard core.  There was a restaurant in Las Vegas that
I could easily go pick it up, so I did, a lot.

I also hung out with a friend who was from Louisiana and
she made me brussel sprouts with dinner one night.
I hadn't had them since I was probably 10 years old.
I don't know why...but I was hooked.
I craved tabbouleh salad and brussel sprouts and everyone
around me was weirded out.....and I still like them.

I got a great recipe from my sister-in-law, Kip
that includes brussel sprouts.  I have no plans of looking like I can
cook or photograph food like Pioneer Woman, but
I had to share my photo and my recipe.

Whether you like brussel sprouts or not,
you just have to try this...so easy and soo good!

1 lb. Brussel Sprouts
2 Tbls Olive Oil
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 cup walnuts
1/2 cup Craisins

Shred brussel sprouts, add to heated olive oil.  Cook along with spices for
3-5 minutes until sprouts are wilted, but still green.  Add nuts and Craisins and
stir and toss for another minute or so.

Does anyone else like brussel sprouts?
I just can't be alone in this.

2011 Golden Globes Fashion Review

I didn't get to see all of the award show, but really...
who cares?  I saw the red carpet.

I was at a girlfriend's house and if
our conversations were recorded I would go to jail
for bad behavior.
My theory is this...if you are on t.v. you open yourself to criticism.

I will make my picks short and sweet.

My absolute favorite dress:

Mila Kunis...winner, winner, chicken dinner!

I have a few runner-ups.

Olivia Wilde...this one says fairytale, love.

This one grew on me fast, plus I love her on
Modern Family.  It looked better on HDTV, believe me, I compared.

Eva Longoria, hot "sweet revenge" dress.
I don't like her, but I like this dress.

How gorgeous is this color? Is she a size 00 or what?
Gorgeous, not a bulge anywhere.  Simple perfection.
She looks like a bowl of sherbet, and that's a compliment.

Ryan Gosling...hottest one there, so good to see you again.
Stud.

The dress on Halle isn't that great, but
what about the cuffs? OMG, I fall off my chair when I see those.
Love the short hair and the body.

And here is where it goes bad.

Sandra, you are my girl...I don't feel this look :(

But, if you had your little boy on your hip, I would
give you an A+.

I am saving the worst for last.....
drum roll....

I hate her dress, I hate her hair, and
Brad Pitt looks ridiculous in those glasses and
his looks have gone down the tubes.

They are just a HOT MESS together.
Tell me I am wrong.

Her brother is her "Prince"

{Image via Tumblr}

She isn't going to be able to pull off these games
for much longer.  I give it a few more months max.

He's gonna get smart and say "No!".

But, until then...

My almost two year old, Turner is going to have
to keep on being her "Prince Charming".

He's gonna have to keep on playing her games,
and wearing the clothes she puts on him.

And if this is the only boy she kisses until she's 25...
that's fine with me.

If you have two kids super close in age,
it does get easier, here's the proof.

I don't ever want to be a "Mom" blog, but
I gotta show them off every once in awhile...

Cheers to two kids who play together, giving me some
time to work on  home projects that I plan to share soon!

Polishing My Nails has turned into a JOKE...

{Image via Flickr}

I polished my nails last night.
I found 3 chips this morning after my shower.

What is the point of looking polished {nice pun huh?}
if it lasts for less than 12 hours?

Do you do your nails every week?
How long do they last?

I need your secrets...name brands and all.

Cuz, me taking the time to polish my nails
has turned into a joke.

I am almost sure I will get a comment from my Mom..
I have seen her nails unpolished less than 3
times in my life!!

HELP!

My 3 year old has an attitude!

The day that I found out I was having a little girl
was one of my favorite days ever.

I'm one of those girls that was fine with whatever
gender of kids I got, but there had to be a girl in the mix!

Little girls are so fun to be "girls" with, to shop with,
to do their hair, the whole nine yards.

HOWEVER......if you don't have a 3 year old girl,
this is what you are missing in your household.

They tend to be a little dramatic.
They tend to be a little particular.
They tend to switch moods very quickly.

Doesn't this sound like a woman with major PMS?

Besides the aforementioned behaviors ....she likes to change her clothes,
her outfits, a lot.

So, I find clothes on the floor, in her room, in my room, in
her brother's room, in the closet, in the toy boxes, and our
bathroom floor.

Let me enlighten you with two,
recent conversations with little Miss Sassy.

This morning...

Brandon: Tatum, you left your scarf on the bathroom floor, go pick it up,
Okay?
Tatum: THAT IS NOT A SCARF, DADDY...it's a cowl, GOSHl!!
{Brandon just looks at me with his mouth open.  He is in shock, he
doesn't hear this stuff all day long.  He's all....what? Did she just say that?}

Tonite, while I was cooking dinner
{Meatloaf with fingerling potatoes, yep!}...

Me: Tatum, please pick up your dress-up dress, I'm trying to
cook dinner, okay?
Tatum: YOU ARE A MEAN MOMMY,
YOU DON'T TALK TO
ME LIKE THAT!!!
I DON'T LIKE YOU ANYMORE.
YOU ARE BAD!!!!

And after three minutes on her naughty stool for
punishment...she hopped off, beaming from
ear to ear, with tears still on her face and says,
"I love you all the day, Mommy."

Seriously?

One thing I have learned as a parent,
you can't stay mad at your child for long,
especially when they are so darn cute.

Oh, the drama....

Black Swan Movie Review

Have you seen it?
Did you like it?

Black Swan isn't the movie I thought it was going
to be.  It was very artistic, and dark, confusing,
and .....I would wait for it on DVD.

Natalie Portman did a great job and I've read that she
was formally trained in ballet.  She and Mila Kunis or both beautiful,
and if you want to see girl on girl action, this is where you can get it.

But, overall...I give it a C+, it will probably score huge at the
awards show this season..it's artsy, you know the drill.

Last night we cuddled on the couch and rented
The Social Network.  It tells the story of how FaceBook was born.
I loved it...this one gets two thumbs up!
Very interesting and the lead actor did a great job.
It's fun to know the history of something as "cool" as
Facebook.

But I gotta ask....do you ever get annoyed with Facebook?
Who has seen these movies?
What do you think?
